This very moment, I decided that I’m going to abandon my home-grown blog platform. I haven’t updated it in quite a while, and the thought of doing so fills me with dread. I just don’t have the time or energy for it right now (my free time is dedicated to writing). So I guess I’ll be switching to WordPress pretty soon.

The NTSB wants to ban cell phones and texting while driving. If they really want to save lives, they need to ban driving. Seriously, have you guys seen how many people are killed driving every year?

I can't figure out how to write on your wall with the new timeline so I'll semi-hijack this post.
I still enjoy perusing your online photo gallery of all the Krehbiel folks. Thanks for putting all the time into it. I ended up buying a slide scanner like yours and it has been helpful, although I am realizing that my old PC doesn't have the capacity to handle a decent scratch/noise filter very well, and these are o~l~d negatives! But sometimes they are the only record I have, so it has stilll been a treat.
I was thinking of getting some server space from a friend and uploading the Family History stuff I have in a similar way, but my daughter recommends photo-sharing sites like Snapfish. (they allow extensive comments and such now.) Do you have any thoughts?

Sorry, I keep my wall locked. Keeping it open feels the same as letting everyone see my mail. :) Congrats on getting your slides scanned! A photo-sharing site would definitely be easier to maintain, but you might have to give up a certain amount of control. Check the terms of service because sometimes they try to put sneaky things like "you give up all rights to your pictures" in there (eg. Facebook is allowed to do whatever it wants with your pictures until they are deleted). Also make sure you keep copies of the pictures on your own computer too. I haven't used Snapfish for sharing, so I don't know about its capabilities. You might want to look at Flikr or Picasa too.
